Industrial NH3
Refrigerator Operator I
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course training covers the fundamental items and concepts
used by the industrial ammonia refrigeration operator in the course of
duty; the
refrigeration cycle, physical properties of various refrigerants,
refrigerant performance tables, compressor types, compressor operation
and maintenance, lubrication, cooling units, condensers, high
pressure receivers and purging non-condensable gases from the
refrigeration system. Diagrams, tables, study questions, exams and
a glossary help the student bring key concepts into focus.
Seminars take place on campus at Garden City's original ammonia program
facility located in the Gary Jarmer Technical Annex. Industrial NH3
Refrigerator Operator II
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course training continues in the theory and operation of the
industrial ammonia refrigeration cycle and associated equipment and
systems.
The Class introduces liquid feed to an evaporator and the function of vessels and
their liquid feeds, direct expansion evaporators, gravity flooded
evaporators, pumped liquid recirculation systems, secondary
refrigerants, NH3 pressure enthalpy diagrams, two stage systems and
defrost systems. Hands on laboratory exercises in variable frequency drives,
calibrating ammonia refrigeration sensors, basic electrical troubleshooting,
transducer evaluation, ammonia compressor control panel, intercooler
desuperheating and refrigerant pumpout assignments help the students in
reinforcing their theoretical knowledge Industrial NH3
Refrigeration Technician 1 (Operator
III)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course training continues in the theory and operation of the
industrial ammonia
refrigeration cycle and associated refrigeration equipment and systems. The
course training concentrates on
the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial ammonia
refrigeration equipment.
Students will be participating in hands-on actual tear-downs and repairs
and modifications of common ammonia refrigeration equipment. Industrial NH3
Refrigeration PSM/RMP
COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This
unique course training addresses PSM and RMP plans from a different perspective
and is based on iiar
materials, OSHA regulation 29CFR1910.119 and EPA 40CFR68 .
Process Safety Management is the proactive identification, evaluation
and mitigation or prevention of industrial ammonia refrigeration releases that could occur as a
result of failures in the ammonia refrigeration process, procedures or
equipment. While most seminars and training are aimed
at what a company must do to get into compliance with these regulations,
this course training is intended to aid the ammonia refrigeration operator, supervisor,
manager or safety manager in staying in compliance after his or her
company program is in place.
Seminars take place on campus at Garden City's original ammonia
program facility located in the Gary Jarmer Technical Annex. Advanced
Refresher / RETA CIRO Prep
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Garden
City Community College is proud to announce the newest in our line of
Ammonia Refrigeration Operator Training Seminars. The
Refresher/Certification Preparation Course will review topics from RETA
Operator books 1 through 3 and will also cover basic ladder logic and
controls for ammonia refrigeration systems. Boiler I
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course training covers the fundamental theory and concepts
used by the steam plant operator in the course of duty, basic boiler
room systems, steam and water accessories, fuel burning equipment,
combustion controls, draft systems, boiler water treatment, steam boiler
fittings and steam boiler operation are all covered by this training
course. Diagrams, tables, study
questions, exams and a glossary help the student bring key concepts into
focus. Seminars take place on campus at Garden City's original
ammonia program facility located in the Gary Jarmer Technical Annex.
